Security Guarding Site Survey Guide
Conduct a guarding site survey that connects assets, threats, vulnerabilities, operating conditions and client priorities to an appropriate service design.
Understand the environment
Map boundaries, access points, buildings, lighting, public interfaces, operating hours, critical assets and previous incidents.
Assess threats and vulnerabilities
Consider theft, intrusion, violence, protest, fire, fraud, information loss and internal threats without treating every site as identical.
Design layered controls
Combine physical security, procedures, technology, supervision, patrols and response arrangements. Guard numbers should follow assessed duties and coverage.
Document assumptions
Record information supplied by the client, inspection limitations, recommended actions and items outside the proposed service. Review after material site or threat changes.
